The IIFAL Functional Skills English – Entry Level 1 SLC course helps learners develop essential speaking, listening and communication skills through practical, structured and confidence-building activities.
Designed for learners working at Entry Level 1, the course focuses on building clear spoken communication, active listening, questioning skills, and effective participation in both one-to-one and group interactions. Learners progress from foundational communication skills through to structured discussion and assessment preparation.
The course places strong emphasis on real-life communication, employability skills and learner confidence. Activities include role-play, guided discussions, listening tasks and collaborative exercises, making it suitable for a wide range of learners including EAL, SEND and those returning to education.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to communicate more clearly, respond appropriately in conversations, express opinions respectfully and take part in structured speaking and listening tasks with increased confidence.
