About Course

The IIFAL Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Supporting Boys and Young Men is a practical, self-paced online training programme designed for individuals who work with, support, mentor, or care for boys and young men across a range of settings.

Delivered by IIFAL, this course provides essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to better understand the lived experiences, behaviours, and challenges facing boys and young men today.

Grounded in over 30 years of frontline youth work and community practice, the programme draws on real-world experience supporting young people affected by trauma, exploitation, violence, school exclusion, mental health challenges, and social disadvantage.

This is a highly practical course focused on applied learning rather than theory-heavy content. Participants will explore how to build trust, improve communication, respond to vulnerability, and support positive development in boys and young men.

The training is delivered through structured online learning, reflective activities, case studies, and practical tools that can be immediately applied in professional or community settings.
