About Course

The teenage years are when your child practises being an adult. This course helps you coach them through it: keeping conversations open, handing over freedom step by step, and teaching the life skills they need before they leave home.

Across seven modules you will look at the teenage brain, how to talk and listen so teenagers keep talking, negotiating rules and rebuilding trust, money, cooking and health, decision-making and peer pressure, staying safe online, and identity and future plans. Module 2 brings in the full communication toolkit: timing, active listening, I-statements, difficult conversations and a five-step method for solving disagreements, ending with your own family communication agreement.

Lessons mix short reads, scripts you can use, interactive practice activities and conversation starters to try at home. Practice activities and module quizzes are not graded. The final assessment has a 70% pass mark and up to 3 attempts.
